Appendix B: Detaching and
Reattaching Environmental PC
board and Cables and Upgrading
the Mounting Base
Detaching the Environmental PC Board
and Upgrading the Mounting Base
Remove the environmental PC board from the
outdoor housing as follows:
1. The board is attached to a black plastic
mounting base inside the housing. Touch the
metal housing to discharge static electricity
BEFORE touching the board.
2. If you have one, install a dust cap over the 32-
pin connector in the center of the board.
3. As shown, inside the mounting base is a
molded plastic spring finger that holds the board
in place. 1) Press this finger and 2) gently pull
on the red dust cover to remove the board.
4. Detach all cables from the PC board.
5. Put the board in a safe, dry place.
6. Replace the mounting base with the new one
supplied. Use a 5.5mm nut driver to remove
nuts securing the base.

Reattaching the Environmental PC Board
1. Reconnect ac wires to the 3-pin plug.

2. Connect BNC connector to pig-tailed video
input of PC board.
3. Connect data to connector P1 on PC board.
Note: Wire colors are for composite cable only.
Manchester data connections to P1
(Ultra IV). Order data cable 88760 (plenum) or
8760 (non-plenum) from Belden by calling
1-800-235-3361.

1-4 — Not used.
5 Black Manchester (+)
6 White Manchester (–)
RS422 Data connections to P1 (Ultra III & IV)
